AudioCubes

AudioCubes are a modular live performance instrument that let you shape sound, create music and perform live through hands-on interaction with wireless intelligent objects.

AudioCubes offer new ways to interact with your existing audio software, beyond what is possible with classic knob boxes and trigger pads. They can be used for simple filter sweeps as well as infinitely complex setups in which the musical information they generate will depend on how the objects interact with each other and with their user.

ISA Harp

1.2m X 1.2m aluminium frame with a grid of focused infrared beams intersecting at the right angles. Every beam or every intersection individually programmable by means of supplied software utility. Playing is accomlished by moving hands or any other part of the body within the frame of the instrument.

Tenori-On

Yamaha’s Tenori-On functions as both a performance input controller and display. It consists of a 16×16 grid of 256 identical LED buttons in a square-shaped magnesium frame. Along the sides are function buttons letting users make changes to volume, octave, tempo, transposition, note lengths, and loop point and speed.

monome

The monome is an interface sharing many similarities with the Tenori-On. It consist of a reconfigurable grid of backlit keypads which connects to a computer. Interaction between the keys and lights is determined by the application running on the computer. There is no hard-wired functionality.

META-EVI, META-EWI

The META-EWI and the META-EVI are two musical instruments created from an extensive augmentation of respectively the AKAI EWI3020 wind controller and the Steiner MIDI EVI. Both instruments were expanded with a new set of electronics based on sensor technologies. The main goal of these two projects/instruments consists in achieving performance tools that exhibit truly innovative levels of musical expression that push the level and the meaning of musicianship associated with the player of a monophonic wind instrument to a new plateau of musical complexity.

Tooka

The Tooka is a two person flute. The current version of the Tooka uses two identical sections of hollow flexible tube connected together with a plastic connector to form one continuous tube. At each end is a mouth-piece made from a connector, four buttons and a pressure sensor. The tube’s outside and inside diameters are 1.25” and 1”, respectively, providing a fairly high compliance. When assembled, the Tooka measures 86cm long.

Continuum Fingerboard

The Continuum Fingerboard is a MIDI / Firewire performance controller that resembles a traditional polyphonic 88 note MIDI keyboard in that it is approximately the same size, however the Continuum offers realtime continuous control in three directions for every finger that is placed on the playing surface. The Continuum is compatible with any MIDI synthesizer, sound module, or sequencer.
